Minimserver audio station synology software#
If I could only keep minim server and have a simple and good software on smartphone, which works good over 4G. So I'm still looking for a good (free) solution. I have a windows server os, maybe that could help ? No loading problem with DS audio when i used it. This is the only solution that worked (even if in 4g, that is soooooo long, so more than ds audio, even if i have a 100mb internet connexion) Actually, bubble server redirect to minimserver. Seriously.īubble upnp seems to be better because you can make different choices : which player (smartphone or tv by example) and which library (locally, minimserver or other dlna sources).īut we need bubble server + minim server. With wifi, most of applications work.īut over internet. I will try upgrading my control PC then.Well, you're right, that would be better for me to use a media server software.Īs you adviced me, I installed minimserver and "configured" it.īut it's harder on smartphone side. I have all my music stored on an a Netgear Ultra2 (Atom D525) and map a drive to my Windows PC for JRiver.
Minimserver audio station synology driver#
If you have issues with music on a NAS it may be related to the network card or it's driver on your windows PC. Ive been using it for years, simplest system available and its free. When you have a track repeating the last seconds I believe it is due to processing power both on the JRiver PC and the Jplay PC, but this is also a weakness in the current version of Jplaystreamer in my experience. Keep your collection on your NAS and sync it to 'the cloud' using Google Music Manager. I guess 64bit float filters would also work here. I use 132k 32bit float filters made with Audiolense 4.13. With the T420 as server I can play 192kHz material with convolution and parametric EQ enabled. You don't need to uninstall your current version of MinimServer before installing the new version.
Minimserver audio station synology install#
To install MinimServer 2 on a Synology NAS, do the following: Follow the instructions on the Installing MinimServer 2 on a Synology NAS page. It works as a plain MC DNLA server, but as soon as I enable DSP i.e. MinimServer 2 supports all Synology NAS models. I have tried a small laptop with an Atom D425 (so single core). This is a Lenovo T420 with Win7-64 and Intel i5. I use my laptop as MC DLNA server at the moment. However, Jriver is still more convenient to use as it reads CUE+APE, or CUE+FLAC. I switch to Foobar as DLNA server, which can also add convolution feature, and no more repeats. (I am suspecting it's because my hardware on the DLNA server PC is not powerful enough, it's running on a atom processor. Glad to find another Jplay user who also uses digital room correction.Ĭould you share with me your hardware/Software configuration on the PC that runs JRiver server? A strange thing in my case is that using Jriver, I can only play one track, and the music keeps on repeating the last 1-2 second of that track.

I should also mention that I use the newly released UpTone Regen device on the USB link to my Devialet 250.

Simon of Minimserver has stated that he will not code (does not have the time) an official convolution function in Minimserver, but he is supportive of such function. There exists a convolution add-on for Minimserver May work with other servers too as long as it is on Linux. JPLAYstreamer is a bit sluggish at the moment, but I am sure the good guys at JPLAY will improve this in the future.

So far I use BubbleUPnP on Android, JRMC server (latest v20.x) on win7 and JPLAY on Server 2012R2. I never got earlier versions of JPLAY to work reliably. As I use room correction I am now able to use JPLAY6 via the new JPLAYstreamer. Minimserver may be better in most respects, but JRMC is the only UPnP server with direct support for convolution via it's DSP.
